Join the tour of abandoned castles and chateaus in belgium with author Ransom Riggs.

When author Ransom Riggs wanted to create a trailer for his book Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, he decided to go to Belgium and tour some old castles and chateaus  as a “big old enchanted house on the other side of the world” is where the children from the book were supposed to have lived. So he went and toured these places to make his trailer.

I watched the video of the tour and it is fascinating. The places still have furniture, clothing, photos and other items of all sorts still in them. Some of the images are hauntingly beautiful while other are rather spooky but it was am awesome opportunity to see inside these places that most will never have in their life and some of these places may be gone now so even our children will never see them.  It really makes you wonder why they were abandoned rather than sold and remodeled or restored.

Some are simply gorgeous from outside. I decided to make this post so that you all could see the video as I think a lot of our viewers will enjoy the video as much as I did. The video really sparked my curiosity about the book Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children  so I bought it, and I have just recently got around to reading and I have to say O enjoyed it. It is about a group of children with unnatural abilities that were in an orphange type home when Germany was dropping bombs on England. The headmistress also had abilities and took them into a time loop to save them. It really is an enchanting tale for anyone that likes this sort of book. Seems there is a second and third book in the series out now. I need to get the second while the first is fresh in my mind.
