By learning from the lessons Dick Winters, who is known from his character and interviews in the mini series Band of Brothers, shares openly and freely we can be better people… male and female.
This brief biography goes through many of the big moments in Winters’ young life, when he was serving as a major in World War II. It looks at his many accomplishments and the ways he formed his life and habits to better himself, which in the long run allowed him to take better care of his men. This biography touches on a few of the life lessons that Winters’ taught in his biography and includes quite a bit of his history and story from during the war.
Major Dick Winters is one of these people. While he isn’t particularly well-known by most people, though the mini-series Band of Brothers did bring some light to his story, Winters kept high standards throughout his life that can be greatly admired. Winters was featured in a number of books and was portrayed by English actor Damian Lewis in the 2001 HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.
Richard D. “Dick” Winters (21 January 1918 – 2 January 2011)[1] was an officer of the United States Army and a decorated war veteran. He is best known for commanding Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, during World War II, eventually being promoted to major rising to command of the entire 2nd Battalion.
Having someone to look up to is an extremely important part of growing and becoming a better person. Unfortunately, it’s becoming harder and harder for people to find someone, who they can hold in high regards that they want to follow their example. However, if you’re willing, there are many things you can learn and grow from by extending your view from the people around you to the people who came before you. If you’re able to find someone in history who you hold in high regard, you might find the perfect person to help you grow.
