If you like to take your bikes when you go camping or if you like to take the bikes and go somewhere else to ride here is a bike rack that you can make out of pvc pipe and then put it in the bed of your pick up for the bikes. This way they stand up neatly and are not getting all scratched up from being thrown in the bed all willy nilly. Louis Lam shares the tutorial for making this bike rack on Instructables and it would have to be much cheaper to make one out of pvc that to buy a bike rack.
One thing mentioned in the comments and that you should know if you build this rack is that it should be painted to protected it from the sun and weather. Pvc can become brittle otherwise from baking in the sun. This rack looks as if it would hold up to three bikes so the next time you want to go trail riding on bikes with friends or family members all three bikes can be secured in this bike rack and that way they won’t get scratched or dinged on the way to your next ride.
