Make a Corner Vegetable Bin

Storing vegetables and fruits is actually easy and quick. You have the option to either refrigerate, freeze, or just keep them on your countertop, which depends on the specific vegetables or fruits in question.

According to Half Your Plate, tomatoes, bananas, lemons, limes, and potatoes should be kept in a dry and cool place and not in your fridge. Mushrooms should also be kept in a dry and cool place and must be washed only before using them. Eggplant must also be stored in a cool place and you have to use them two days after buying them.

Potatoes should be kept out of your fridge and stored in a dry and cool place with lots of ventilation.
Meanwhile, onions and garlic must be kept at a room temperature or even cooler inside a properly ventilated area. You also need to store tomatoes at room temperature and wash them right before using.

Peaches, pears, plums, and mangoes can get ripe at room temperature when placed inside a brown paper bag. You need to store these fruits in the refrigerator for a longer storage.
As for pineapple, you need to store it upside down for one to two days in the fridge or at room temperature to let the sweetness to be distributed all over the fruit.
Finally, whole melons should be kept at room temperature. You can store cantaloupe at room temperature but this can get ripe faster.

Anika’s DIY Life shares some DIY plans on how to make your own corner vegetable storage bin where you can safely and properly put your vegetables or even some fruits for them to stay in great condition.
