Learn how to make your own fire starters with herbs for mosquito control. If you make a lot of fires in the summer, either in your backyard or at camp you can make these fire starters all winter and be ready when the time comes. These are made out of lint that you can collect from your dryer.

The lint is put inside tissue paper rolls and then candle wax is melted onto the lint. Adding fresh sage leaves will help shoo mosquitos away when you burn the fire starter. You can see the instructions that Dabbles and Babbles shares and start collecting the lint so you can make batches of these over the winter. She says they use them at the beach over the spring and summer and that the fire starters are very helpful for starting fires when the wood may be a little damp.
This is a great way to recycle your dryer lint and empty toilet tissue and paper towel rolls. You can use candle stubs or even melt the left over candle in jar candles to drip into the lint, so you could even be using those up rather than tossing into the trash.
