When pumpkins come into season I think most people start thinking about pumpkin recipes and one of my favorites is pumpkin pie. If you grow your own pumpkins it is pretty easy to make your own pie filling by roasting and mashing your pumpkin then adding eggs and cream and spices.
504 main has a great recipe for mixing your own pumpkin pie spice. So much cheaper than buying it in those little jars and if you have your own pumpkin you can be making pies for a lot less than store-bought pie or pie filling.
