I was searching around for a tutorial on making some shutters for my attic bedroom, I really like the idea of shutters over blinds or curtains because when they are opened they will let in lots of light and blend in with the window and walls. I found two tutorials that look both easy and super inexpensive to make on Design By Dreams. She made both a flat white set and a more rustic set of shutters and I am debating between the two.
The rustic pair cost her only around 10 dollars but the plain white ones were only 40 dollars so neither pair will break me but it is so hard to choose. I like both for different reasons. I think I may make the plain ones and the see if I can get hubs to make a small heart cut out on each side to let in a little light even when the shutters are closed. If you are looking to make some shutters these two tutorials look super easy and I am sure we can change the measurements to suit which ever window we need the shutter for.
