Nectarines are in the stores right now and are fairly reasonable. Here is a great way to preserve them that doesn’t require canning. Preserving fruit in alcohol works really well.

I remember the Rumtopf or rum pot that sat on the counter in some of my family members kitchens and how the fruit was so good spooned over ice cream. While it was usually a mixture of fruits this recipe calls for only nectarines. I can tell you that it is really good and it is easy to make.
