If your family goes camping a lot you might like to build this pvc camp potty that disassembles for storing. You can use it with a five gallon bucket of if you are really out in nature you could dig a hole and set the potty over it. Then when you need a new spot or are leaving just cover the hole back up with the dirt you dug out.
If you use the bucket you can use a garbage bin liner and then just tie a knot in it and dispose of it or bury it. If you will bury it then make sure to use biodegradable bags so it will break down over time. I don’t know if people still do this but when I was a kid my folks had a camper that fit into the bed of a pick up truck. While it had a fridge of sorts that you used ice to keep things cold and a propane stove. It had absolutely no kind of toilet and my father must have had a bladder the size of Mount Rushmore because he never had to stop.
If he did he would just pull over and go on the side of the road. While that worked for him my sisters and I were not comfortable going on the side of the road. So needless to say we spent many many miserable hours in that camper with no bathroom. I would have loved something like this. It is neat that you can take it apart to store it since unless you are actually using it you wouldn’t really want to look at it all the time.
