Quick Chocolate Coconut Fudge Homemade Vintage Recipe - The Homestead Survival - Old Fashion Cooking

Ingredients:

1 package (6-ounces) Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips Dainties (small)

4 tablespoons, level Durkee’s Margarine

3 tablespoons warm water

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 level cups confectioner’s sugar

Dash of salt

1 cup Durkee’s Stayfresh Coconut or 1 (5-ounce) can Durkee’s Dixie Cut Coconut (You can replace with shredded coconut)

Directions:

1. Melt together 1 package (6-ounces) Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips (small) Dainties and 4 level tablespoons Durkee’s Margarine (half of a 1/4 pound stick), in a double boiler.

2. Add 3 tablespoons warm water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

3. Sift 3 level cups confectioner’s sugar and a dash of salt into a large mixing bowl.

4. Mix 1 cup Durkee’s Stayfresh Coconut or 1 (five-ounce) can Durkee’s Dixie Cut Coconut with sugar.

5. Stir melted mixture into a bowl of dry ingredients.

6. Press into 8-inch pan.

7. If desired, top with shredded coconut.

8. Chill in refrigerator until set.

9. Remove from refrigerator, cut into squares and serve.

Makes about 1 1/2 pounds.
