Raise Small-breed Milk Cows

If you have a small homestead and would still like to have your own dairy products  consider raising small breed milk cows. They are only about half the size of a regular dairy cow and yet they provide between 1 to 1 and a half gallons of milk per milking. That should be enough for a family to have milk and possible make some of their own cheese. I think they are really cute and if I was going to raise cows for milk I would raise these little ones. Mother Earth News has all the info how to raise them.
