I remember seeing a lot of this redwork when I was young. My grandmother had it on a lot of her pillowcases. I love the red and the blue. She had some little birds that showed up a lot in her work.
I remember just laying on the bed looking at the pretty needle work wondering why my pillow at home couldn’t be as pretty. When I got a little older I figured out that they didn’t come that way and that the flowers and birds had actually been worked onto them by my grandmother.
I never really learned how to do needlework back them but I do some cross stitch now. I really like this red though.
