When you have a baby in your house, it results in countless sleep interrupted nights. It can involve changing your baby’s diaper, feeding your baby, and putting your child to sleep. But sometimes the later doesn’t seem to work.

When a baby can’t sleep, both his or her parents won’t sleep as well. So how can you solve this problem of putting your baby to sleep? You can try a DIY rocking chair with crib to make things much better for you and your child.

The rocking chair with a crib in one DIY project is the perfect solution for your baby. It is an easy to complete task if you have just basic carpentry skills with the right materials and tools. It will make life much easier for all families with babies.

And when the child outgrows the crib it becomes a large yarn storage and/or a knitting chair. It will be an excellent addition to your nursery after picking a matching paint or wood color. It will also take less space.

Tools Needed:

hand saw

drill

sander (soft and rough sanding paper)

brush

staple gun

Supplies:

wood glue

super glue

screws (about 30 not longer than the thickness of the wood and 4 slightly longer)

4 metal corner brackets

paint/varnish

fabric

foam mattress

Wood:

For this project you need to get whole wood (not MDF, plywood or sandwich boards), I got some pine plates. The 3 big pieces (the sides and the base) are 2.8cm thick, the rest are1.8cm. I recommend you consult with a professional if you decide to use anything different.

The sizes of the plates you will need are specified in the blueprint. In addition you will need a 42X44cm piece of any wood for the upholstery (thick enough so the staples won’t go through).
