Sew some trick or treat bags that can be reused next year, they will also fit in the storage tote a lot better than those plastic pumpkins and buckets. When my kids were growing up we had so much stuff to store every year, between all of the Halloween costumes and treat buckets and then the Easter baskets and then add in all the Christmas stuff and it was like one whole corner of the basement was devoted to holidays.
I sure could have used this tutorial and made some of these adorable trick or treat bags that would have folded down nicely after the fun was over and taken up a lot less room. You could probably make some for Easter too with some cute Easter patterned material and leave it open for the kids to find with all the chocolate bunnies and fuzzy chicks peeking up out of it.
Then it could fold up for storage as well. Fishsticks Designs shares the free tutorial for making these cute bags. I like them for yarn or books or all sorts of things because of the way you can open them and they stay open so you can see what is in the bag. Nice design.
