A Small Snippet website shares a simple tip to stop a boiling pot from boiling over.
If you put a wooden spoon over a pot of boiling water, it won’t boil over because it breaks the boiling bubbles. Before finding this tip: I would walk away to answer the door or phone and have to run back to it as it boiled over!
Of course, this is a temporary measure not a long term fix. No, you can’t take a bath and expect for the boiling pot not to have boiled over. I never leave the room for long while cooking, I guess that is because I have a firefighter in the family and have heard to many sorrow filled tales.
