If you have an older vinyl floor that you just can’t afford to replace at the moment but also can’t stand to look at any longer check out this super cheap fix for an old vinyl floor. This just may help you save your sanity untill you decide how to replace or save up to replace the flooring. This was done with some painters tape to mark out the pattern and then floor or porch paint was used to paint the pattern.

The tutorial is from Apartment Therapy and they explain how to clean the floor first and then prime the area to be painted. All in all this is just a few hours of work and then a day or so drying time and it only costs them 10 dollars for paint because they had every thing else on hand but I am sure it could be done for under 30 if you had to buy every thing.

It sure did make a difference. I love the pattern and it doesn’t look outdated anymore. While it may not make you happy for years, it just might get you through for long enough. If you don’t care for the black color you could choose pretty much any color you like or go wild and use a few different colors.
