This Tall Raised Wood Pallet Garden to Avoid Backache Project is easy to build, inexpensive building materials and designed for homestead gardeners who have bad backs.
This is a fantastic project for gardening buffs that do not have it in them to continually bend over as the hobby requires – as is the case with the author of this project.
The key materials used include; plenty of equal – sized pallets, screws, dirt, etc. the first step involves finding a spot that has the right amount of lighting for the garden plants, then constructing the raised pallet there by drilling the parts together. The height chosen depends on the owners’ personal needs and can be changed in personal projects.
Putting in the dirt is the big step as this depends on a number of factors – like what kind of plants to be grown, what kind of depth is required, etc. Once that is out of the way, the planting can begin.
This particular builder used growing areas of 12’x4’ but it can be altered also to suit personal needs. There is the option to put an end cap pallet in or to allow for space to continually increase the length, the choice is ultimately the user’s to make.
The raised pallet garden is ready for use then, and can also take a few enhancements. The original builder here has thrown in a shade to protect the plants from the sun in Florida.
So it’s bye-bye to the days when gardening work was a strain on the back, now it can be done standing upright.
