With cold and flu season upon us here is a great list of the top ten anti viral herbs so you can choose a natural way to combat the viruses that are coming our way in the next few months. Gabe Garms from Wilderness College says “I’ll go over which part of the plant to harvest, when to do it, how to make it into a medicine and which viruses each is used to treat. When discussing how to make each into a medicine, I’ll talk about using the herbs in the form of tinctures, teas and infusions. A tea is plant matter that is steeped in water for between 5-30 minutes, while anything steeped for over 30 minutes is considered an infusion. An infusion tip: Flowers can be infused for up to 2 hours while leaves and the other aerial portions of the plant can be infused for up to 4 hours.”
