If you keep powdered milk in your food storage then you will be able to make evaporated or sweetened condensed milk if you ever need some. The sweetened condensed would also need sugar and butter. These are good recipes to have for when you go to make something and realize you don’t have the can of milk you need. As long as you have the powdered milk you can still make your recipe without a run to the store. I love that the recipes are for a regular size recipe instead of say a gallon at a time. They make a little over a cup so you won’t have a lot left over to figure out how to get used up.
These recipes are from Food Storage and Survival. I keep powdered milk in my storage supplies. I buy the big box and then seal it into quart size mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. All of your storage foods should be rotated out on a regular basis to keep them fairly fresh. That is what they say to “Store what you eat and Eat what you store” When you buy new put it in the back and use from the front of the shelf or cabinet to keep the old rotated out and the new rotating it.
