Using Lavender To Help Get Rid Of Dog Smell

If you have a dog or dogs then you know they can be pretty smelly, even if you bathe them often which is drying to their skin, it always seems like as soon as they go outside they come back smelly again. Their beds and blankets can be washed to get rid of the smell but your carpets not so much. If you take your dog to the dog park or other places in your car then you can end up with a car that smells like dogs. In both of these cases lavender can help. Lavender essential oil is a nice smelling herb and you can add 10 or 15 drops to a bottle of dog shampoo to make your pup smell great after a bath. You can also put a drop or two between the dogs shoulders to help prevent fleas or rub a few drops into his collar to help calm them when they go in the car if yours gets nervous.

You can add a few drops to a spray bottle of half water and have rubbing alcohol and mist your car after  the dog has been to the park and rode home in it  and Shelly Levis shares a video of how she makes a carpet powder with lavender flowers to make her carpets smell nice and to get rid of the doggy smell. So just using lavender essential oils and the flowers can help in many ways with dog odor. The only people who shouldn’t use these ideas are folks that may be allergic to lavender.
