For the next four weeks, shake once a day for two minutes and store in a place out of direct sunlight.
After four weeks, strain and compost the Valerian root but keep the liquid.
Use small amounts on the nights you need a sleep aid to test the right amount that works for you. Start with a teaspoon.
Valerian seems to be most effective after you take it regularly for two or more weeks.
