How To Use Orange Peels To Get Rid Of Ants

This simple tutorial of how to use orange peels to get rid ( kill) of ants from your home, garden and yard.

The benefit of using orange oil to rid your home of ants is that it is non-toxic to humans and has a pleasant scent. You can buy orange oil or make your own by filling a glass mason jar with the orange peels and cover them with water. Let them sit for a couple of days in a sunny window sill and strain off the water from the orange oil that rises to the top.

Orange oil can be used to kill the fire ants that are building colonies in your yard and have terribly painful (in some cases deadly) bites to humans and pets.

Use a Q-tip dipped in orange oil to smear a line of orange oil around windows, doors and the base of your kitchen cabinets.

Orange oil is effective in killing ants because main natural ingredient extracted from orange peels is D-Limonene. This extract kills the ants by destroying the wax coating of the ant’s respiratory system.
