This is a really cool way to grow your garden vegetables, especially if you live where there is not a lot of rain fall. You can have yours above ground or use the hybrid method and have it underground. This is really nice for small space gardening. It is not going to work for commercial farmers why plant acres of plants but for folks that want to have a small garden in the back yard or even a side yard or down an edge of the drive way. The above ground system is actually made with a gutter set into a wooden frame to keep it upright.
The containers for your plants are 5 gallon buckets that have a hole in the bottom with a net cup inserted in the hole. The net cup will be the part that is down in the gutter when everything is assembled. Seedlings are planted in the buckets and a watering hose is attached on one end of the gutter. There is a float installed in the gutter that will automatically allow water from the hose into the gutter when more is needed. The plant roots get water through the net cup.
The underground system works the same way except instead of a gutter a sewer pipe with holes cut out for grow bags with the net cup in them are used. This is a very easy way to keep your veggies watered and can be used again and again. Larry Hall invented and shares the videos on this awesome gardening system.
