Freeze Grains to Avoid Weevils

Freeze Grains to Avoid Weevils.

Freezing your grains whether whole or floured will kill any weevil eggs that may be in them and if you do this with all grains and flours when you bring them home you should never end up with weevils.

I freeze mine for at least a week and have for many years. I had brought them home in flour one time. I ended up having to trash every dry good in the pantry. I have been freezing flour, corn meal, rice and other dry goods for a week since then and have never had another weevil.
