PetsHomemade Frugal Cat Deterrent

Homemade Frugal Cat Deterrent

If cats are using your flower beds or garden beds as litter boxes, try this homemade cat deterrent spray. It is very easy to make and it costs almost nothing. You can spray it in areas where a pet cat may be trying to use as a litter box as well.

Homemade Frugal Cat Deterrent

The cat won’t like the smell but you will enjoy the citrus scent. The recipe if from Louise’s Country Closet. The instructions are super easy and you probably have everything you need right in your kitchen. While this recipe calls for orange peel I wonder if orange extract might work as well. Once you have your spray made just spray it all around your flower beds or garden beds and even in places in the house that you want the cat to stop using. Outdoors you will probably have to spray again after a rain. Before spraying on carpet you might wish to test for stains in a hidden spot first. Or spray cotton balls and place in the area rather than spraying the carpet.
