Rabbit Proofed Raised Beds

For our in ground garden beds I told you the other day that I had ordered the scarecrow sprinkler and it seems to be working. Problem is is wasn’t working for the raised beds. The rabbits were still eating my kale.

My husband wanted to fence them with chicken wire but even though it would work and is suitable for the job, I really do not like the way it looks. Its thin so if you even breathe on it hard it bends and since I need access to the beds to weed and plant and harvest I really wanted something a little more durable and that looked a bit better.
So I came up with this.

I love the way it looks so pretty and white and neat and tidy and when I need to work in the beds I just clip the twine and remove the panel where I need to work , then simply tie it back to the stakes when I am done. The panels are 8 x 2 and I got them at our local Menards for five dollars a piece. They will last for years and I really do love the way they look.
If you look at the picture you can see that all we did was screw lengths of wood to the outside of the box and then the privacy panels sit inside the stakes on the edge of the bed’s wood and ties into place.
Easy to do and undo and I think it looks so much better than chicken wire.
