A lot of this is common sense but he does make some good points about being willing to give up a lot to gain a lot. Like buying the land and living in a camper or rv while you build your house.
Or buying homesteading vehicles used and for cash thereby being rid of car payments. Also going together with like-minded couples or people and buying land together. While 3 couples might be able to buy 10 acres of land when they pool their resources and each couple alone might not be able to get more than one or 2 acres. Splitting 10 acres would give everyone more than they could acquire on their own.
