My family had a tradition of piling into the car and slowly cruising around different neighborhoods just to look at beautiful festive Christmas decorated houses. The “oh’s”, “ay’s” and “pretty” that escaped our mouths as children delighted my mother. We did not have a lot of money when I was young but she always found a way to enjoy the holidays.
