Build your own wood stove with cook top from a 55 gallon barrel. Two very nice videos showing how you can take a 55 gallon steel barrel and turn it into a wood stove that has a cook top on it. I have seen barrels turned into grills barbeques and smokers but this is one of the nicest diy projects I have seen done with a steel drum so far.
Brave The Wilds show us how to turn a barrel on its side and turn it into a wood stove for heating but also gives it a flat cook top so you can use it for cooking as well. Very nice looking stove with a cast iron door and even legs to keep it up away from the floor. For some time and effort I think you could build this for a lot less that it would cost to buy a wood burning heater/cook stove.
