Crochet Easter Eggs with Stuffed Toy Animals Amigurumi Craft Project

For all the crocheters who like to pass the time making fun yarn dolls, here’s a fun project you can do for kids.

A popular toy are these eggs with small figurines inside of them, just like those chocolate eggs with small ladies inside of them. These eggs are not big; they are four-inches tall with a small animal in them. To make them, have the following: weight yarn in multiple colors of your choice, a G crochet hook, a yarn needle, a pair of scissors, magic ring, embroidery floss and its needle, buttons, and fiberfill.

Most of it are made with the magic ring first and worked in a spiral, not joined rounds. The animal’s body is made in a dozen spirals and finished off by threading the yarn on the needle and weaved through the last row, pulled to cinch, and stitched up to fasten the ends.

You can make a bunny, bear, or a cat within the egg thanks to the different colors you pick. The eggs are made in halves, one looped and one featuring the button in 9-10 rounds.

After you stuff the animals, they can fit inside the egg and then button it closed. It serves as a nice surprise to the kids when they open it. This is the kind of homemade toy that is very fulfilling because it can become more liked that a store-bought toy.
