If you are into food storage you will love these amazing repurposed food storage ideas. The amount of food stored in these repurposed items is almost mind-boggling. I love the way she takes old things that are no longer used and instead of sending them to the dumpster she converts them into her food storage plans.
One of the items she has repurposed is a wine rack. The rack has 6 shelves. She uses it to store quart jars of dehydrated vegetables. Each shelf holds 10 jars of veggies. Dehydrated corn and peas and like size veggies fit five pounds to a quart jar. So on each shelf of that six shelf wine rack there can be 50 pounds of dehydrated vegetables. The wine rack is not all that large and could fit in a room without being too obtrusive and yet it can hold 300 pounds of dehydrated veg.
That is really pretty amazing. She does mention putting some dark plastic on the inside of the doors to keep out dust. It would also keep out light which is an enemy of stored foods. Another repurpose is one of those old vhs cabinets. Remember the ones with the two doors and all the videos fit on shelves and in the doors. She uses that one at the end of a hall way to hold all of her baking needs.
What a much better purpose for that cabinet than the dump. In the second video you will see her rows and rows of canned and dehydrated jars of food. These videos are from Obssesive Prepper Raz and just admiring all of her hard work and amazing food storage made me feel rather like a slacker.
