To make the perfect Bacon Cheddar Bread to accompany your dinner you will need three cups of water, 2 teaspoons of instant yeast, 2 teaspoons of salt, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1 packet of bacon, 2 cups of shredded cheese, 6 cups of all-purpose flour, and 1/8 teaspoons black pepper.
2 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoon Sugar
3 cups Warm Water
6 cups All-Purpose Flour
1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper
2 teaspoons Instant Yeast
2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 package of Bacon (diced and fried)
Prepare the yeast in all the water, yeast salt and sugar by stirring it together and setting it aside for a few minutes. Whilst your yeast ferments, cook the bacon according to your own preferences. Thereafter, combine your yeast mixture with freshly grated cheese, the 6 cups of flour and half of the cooked bacon (which you should have cut into small pieces). When all the ingredients have been combined, black pepper should be added and thoroughly mixed.
Your mixed dough should then be left in the bowl for an hour and a half, and covered with a towel. When your dough a sufficiently proofed, flour a clean surface and knead the dough for a few minutes. Once kneaded, the dough should be divided into trays, the remaining cheese and bacon must be spread over the top of the dough. The dough must then be put aside, covered with a towel for about 30minutes.
The raised dough should then be put in a preheated 400⁰ oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes foil should be placed over the loaves and the temperature must be decreased to 350⁰ and baked for 35 minutes.
Concluding the 35 minutes, bake for the remaining 10 minutes without the foil covering.
