Recycle an old sweater into a Christmas stocking project. This is a neat way to make something that you will have for years. I think it would be fun to make them out of all the ugly Christmas sweaters that you see in thrift shops this time of year. While you may not want to wear one, most are very cheery and colorful and would make good stockings.

Imperfect Homemaking website shares an amazing way to recycle (upcycle) an old sweater into a large Christmas stocking. This is a beginning skill level project that everyone can do.

Find an old sweater in your closet or head to your local thrift store if your looking for over the top festive design. Adding vintage buttons can give it a classic design.
