For folks that are allergic to eggs and can’t eat mayo. Now you can make your own eggless mayo and enjoy it on your sandwiches and in your salads. A lot of people are allergic to eggs so this recipe is perfect for them. It is also gluten, soy and dairy free so it will work for a lot of different allergies.
So simple to make. It only has a few ingredients and a few spices and takes less than three minutes to make a half of a cup, although you could double or triple the recipe in the same amount of time. When you make this you add ground flax-seed and it does the job of the eggs so you still end up with a thick creamy mayo. I have seen some recipes that come out all watery and thin. This one doesn’t as long as you use and immersion blender to make it. Now that warm weather is here it is time for potato salad and macaroni salad to go with those cook outs.
You can use this mayo to make those salads and everyone with egg allergies can quit missing out on the salads. If you have missed out on mayo due to an egg allergy you won’t have to any more. Here is one of my favorite ways to eat mayo. You need mayo to make it and it is delicious. It is a fresh tomato sandwich. You first go out to your garden and pick a nice juicy ripe tomato. Take it inside and make toast. Slather your toast with mayo and add slices of tomato. Then eat the sandwich. So incredibly simple but oh so yummy. This video is from The Colorful Canary.
