Be honest, how many of you think of bacon as candy? I know a lot of us only eat bacon as a sort of treat so why not bacon candy. Check out this recipe for sweet and spicy candied bacon. It is made with cayenne and brown sugar along with chili powder and even the picture is drool worthy.
The recipe is from The Kitchen Whisperer and she does some amazing things with bacon. I found this recipe after I found her recipe for Sriracha Spiced Bacon. If you like things a lot spicy you might want to make that one. Or one of her other candy bacon recipes, she has cocoa crusted and bourbon brown sugar maple flavor as well. These would make a great Father’s day gift if you have a bacon lover to present them to. Make up a batch of each and then watch his eyes light up when he sees all that delicious candied bacon. You might want to double the recipes though because I am pretty sure you are not going to be able to resist eating some. If you don’t eat pork you could also make the candied bacon with turkey bacon.
