This Cinnamon Candy Rose Apples Homemade Vintage Recipe is a delicious take on an old fashioned dessert straight from what seems like all grandma’s homesteading kitchen. These beautiful apples are simple, is perfectly sweet and spicy!
1 cup sugar
1 and 1/2 cups water
several tablespoons cinnamon drops (Candies) – several in my book means 4
Core and peel the apples and cook slowly until tender in a syrup made in the proportions of 1 cup sugar to 1 1/2 cups water, to which a teaspoon of cinnamon or several tablespoons cinnamon candy drops have been added. The cinnamon candy drops give color and an added spicy flavor.
Chill the rose apples before stuffing them with the cream cheese and nuts and serving them on lettuce with mayonnaise.
Personal note: Skip the whole serve on lettuce with a side of mayonnaise.
