These soft pretzels are made from scratch with delicious dough, hand-rolled, twisted and baked to a golden brown. This recipe will take you little time and effort but it is well worth the effort.

Ingredients:

warm water
granulated sugar
kosher salt
active dry yeast (1 packet)
all-purpose flour
unsalted butter, melted
water
baking soda
egg yolk
Coarse salt

In the late 18th century, southern German and Swiss German immigrants introduced the pretzel to North America. The immigrants became known as the Pennsylvania Dutch, and in time, many handmade pretzel bakeries populated the central Pennsylvania countryside, and the pretzel’s popularity spread.
