In this article, I will cover some of the foods that last forever – tested and proven you can start purchasing today and have enough to feed on with your family.

10 Foods that Lasts Forever

1. Canned Veggies and Fruits

Canned vegetables or fruits are pickled and stored in airtight containers. And because this involves packaging with acidic solutions, these foods can last for years without going bad. When purchasing canned fruits or veggies, please make sure that you don’t buy foods that contain a lot of sugar content.

2. Dried Beans

Beans are one of the foods that last forever. This is because they have very low moisture content. Beans are also one of the most nutritious foods, offering fiber, protein and other significant minerals, such as magnesium.

3. Honey

Did you know that honey is an antibiotic and that it has low moisture content? Sure, honey has high sugar content, which makes it a natural antibiotic.

Honey can last for decades if properly stored. Some research has even stated that honey can never go bad. If you need a sweetener, I prefer you to use honey rather than refined sugar.

4. Red Wine

Wine can taste much better after several years. And while some people say that wine isn’t good enough, research has proven that red wine can offer a ton of health benefits if consumed moderately.

Now, how long wine will last depending on how it was prepared. Commercially produced wines could go up to three years, but there are chances that fine wine could stay for decades without going bad.

5. Cocoa Powder

Cocoa is also among the foods that last forever.  A cup of chocolate can be refreshing, and the good news is that cocoa powder can last for up to 30 years or even more. And please take note that it is not the cocoa chocolate you buy at the supermarket, which already has dairy in it – I’m talking about cocoa powder.

6. White Rice

Let’s face it – most prefer white rice to brown rice, not because of the shelf life, but the pleasant taste. Unsurprisingly, it can last up to thirty years without getting infested.

7. Whole Wheat Grain

Usually, whole wheat grains can last for years due to the packaging materials, as well as the sealing technique used. These packaging materials can either foil or plastic depending on the supplier.

8. Powdered Milk

Powdered milk is also one of the foods that last forever. It has an estimated shelf life of up to twenty years. For decent storage, however, make sure to put them into moisture-absorbent packets to get rid of moist.

9. Bouillon products

Bouillon products come in a variety of flavors, including beef, chicken, and granular flavour. Granular flavour, however, tends to last longer compared to the others. Proper processing, packaging, and storage are some of the pluses to an indefinite shelf-life of bouillon products.

10. Maple Syrup

Did you know that foods with high sugar content have indefinite shelf-life? Well, the sugars in the syrup allow you to store over time. Even so, moulds tend to grow at the top, which of course, you can scrape it off and subject your syrup into boiling.
