Canning Caramel Cider Jelly

Add this recipe for caramel cider jelly to your list of items to start canning. Are you always on the look out for a new favorite canning recipe? If so I think you will want to add this one to your list. Delicious  caramel jelly made with apple cider.  It contains a few fall spices which you could keep as is or adapt to some of your favorite spices. This jelly would be so good in jelly filled donuts or spread on pancakes.

Canning Caramel Cider Jelly

Between the caramel and the spices it would taste like caramel apple pie. The recipe is from Serious Eats and I imagine it will become a favorite in many homes. A nice step up from just plain apple jelly. The recipe makes 6 half pints so make a few batches and you can share as gifts at Christmas. I love that this is made in a small batch. To me it seems more enjoyable to think about making 6 or 8 jars of something instead of saying I have three bushels of apples I need to preserve.

You can do both but one sounds fun the other sounds like a long hot day. Since this is made with apple cider all the hard work is gone. With clean up you can be finished and out of the kitchen in a little over an hour.
