Give New Life To Older Furniture With Decoupage

If you have or see at a thrift store or garage sale and older chest or dresser that you like the shape of but maybe not the stain, varnish or paint that is on it here is a great way to give that piece new life and make it a statement piece in the room. I really love the look of this and I have a dresser that it might work on really well. This would be a neat way to use older furniture for a child’s room as well, you could even do the decoupage on a headboard to really tie every thing together. Do It Yourself has tips and instructions for decoupage that will help you turn an older not so pretty piece of furniture into a one of a kind beauty. From the cleaning of the wood through the how to care for tips they have every thing covered. One tip that I would never have thought of is to not use thin paper like rice paper because it will wrinkle.
