This is a great recipe for adding food to your pantry that will be meaty and just a matter of heating to serve. It is a large recipe and makes about 128 patties of poor mans steak with gravy. It has onions, celery, eggs, crackers and ground beef in the patty mixture along with some spices. These are baked in the oven then the mushroom gravy and the patties are placed into 28 quart jars for pressure canning. I see ground beef prices going up and every so often I see a decent sale. So if you would like to can some of this delicious poor mans steak in mushroom gravy, watch for the sales until you have bought up 30 pounds of ground beef then you can make this to put in your larder. I suppose if you wanted you could halve the recipe.
I think if I make it since it is a lot of work I will go ahead and make all of it so I can do it once and be done for a year or so. Challenged Survival shares this recipe and it is a good one for putting a canned meat product on your pantry shelves that tastes a lot better than spam or luncheon treat.
